Our CCOZ workshops are free mental health and wellbeing workshops that are delivered by Relate practitioners to children and young people in schools and community venues.
Our workshops raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing support and include interactive discussions and activities, including topics such as, the early warning signs of anxiety, low mood, mindfulness coping strategies and resources.
Our practitioners begin the workshop with some psychoeducation on the areas of the brain involved in emotions and how these operate when people become anxious, angry and stressed. Coping strategies are introduced, such as breathing and grounding techniques for young people to practise. Young people will then participate in interactive activities and discussions that help them to understand their mental health and encourage them to have strategies in place when they are struggling with their emotions. We also highlight support services that young people can use if they feel they need additional support.
